Work Experience
SAS Institute - Technical Student - Software Development (May 2007 - August 2007)
Worked alongside a development team on a suite of software designed to dynamically
generate SAS code for importing and manipulating server metadata from a variety of
sources. Refactored and extended existing transforms for extracting SAP BW server
metadata. Coded in Java using Eclipse, met weekly with team members, given freedom
to implement own design choices into the delivered product.
Teaching and Lab Assistant - UNC - Lego Robotics (December 2006 - Present)
Assisted the class Lego Robotics, taught by Dr. Henry Fuchs. Developed lesson plans
and lab assignments for the class. Administered weekly lab sessions for a group of
students. Graded students' tests, labs, and homework assignments.
Microsoft - Intern SDE - Windows Embedded (May 2008 - August 2008)
Work under NDA.
School Projects
AirPlane Game - Java Applet (2004)
I created this applet in 2004 while attending CMU's APEA program for high school students.
At the time I had no idea what I was doing and the game is very buggy, but its a good
attempt for only my first time programming.
Kidney Kids - Serious Games (Fall 2007)
This is a game that I worked on with a class in Fall 2007. The class was centered on serious
games and this game in particular was created to help kids with CKD better take care of
their bodies.
Rockin Safawii - Software Engineering
This is a game that I worked on in Software Engineering Lab (Spring 2008). The primary
audience of the game is visually impaired children. The goal was to create a fun game for
kids to play that had an intuitive audio interface. The premise of the game is that children
are riding a horse and chasing other animals to capture them and collect them. The user
input consists of a child sitting on a spring rocking horse with a wiimote attached.
The game uses the accelerometers in the wiimote to detect the direction the user is
leaning.
